Oh Valentines Day

Now I know some people like to hate on Valentines Day and this may come as a surprise to some but I actually enjoy the day! I don’t see anything wrong with the card and candy companies reminding me to remind my Life Partner how much I love him and care for him. Granted this may be because Im not the lovey dovey type so it makes me say and do things I would normally do or say on a typical day. So I like having an excuse to write mushy things in a card or give “because I love you presents” to Josh and my mini Valentine. What can it hurt to have a day that makes you say the things you have neglected to say through out the year, not because you don’t mean them or don’t want to say them but because you become so comfortable with that person, sometimes you forget to tell them how much they mean to you! So I would like to give a shout out to my Joshy, I love you and am forever grateful for the changes you have made the last couple years to be the “husband” and father that Luke and I are proud to have. I’ll love you forever and look forward to many more years together raising our lil family of 4! And to my lil man Luke, mama loves you more then you’ll ever know and am thankful you chose me! You have done nothing but make my life better since you arrived and I am just the luckiest mom in the world to have you! And for my baby dos, I can’t wait to meet you and want to thank you for making my lil family whole, I love you.

Love you Poop!

My Mini Valentine!

Cabin Fever!

So we took a mini vacay up to Red Feathers Lake with some friends this past weekend. My friend Mitch (a.k.a Michele) and her family have been going up there for years and a couple years ago, before Luke was born, we went up for the weekend and had a blast. It has a hot tub, sleeps 8 comfortable but a crap ton if you bring your own blow up mattress. They have tubing and ice skating close by along with make shaft sledding and snow boarding hills if you are the boys :) And don’t forget just a good old fashion drunken time. Now this time around was a little different, well for me anyways considering Im pregnant, and pregnant people are allowed to have no fun! No drinking, no hot tub, no tubing, no nothing mer mer mer! But I had fun anyways just bullshitting around the cabin with friends I don’t get to see as much as I would like. Mini Luke also wasn’t able to participate in the reindeer games but for another reason, he’s a baby. Don’t let his huge head fool you, he’s a child. But he also didn’t let that bring him down, he played the piano, ate a bunch of crap he wouldn’t normally eat, and was spoiled by everyone there. I was looking forward to seeing him ice skate but it was so windy that’s that there was no way he would have been able to do it. The wind would have picked him up and blew him back to Fort Collins. The wind was blowing Mitch and Josh all over the place, granted those two should eat a sandwich every once in awhile but that’s beside the point. So Mini Luke and I watched form the restaurant with Corey and Steph who is also 5 months pregnant and not allowed to have fun. We were joined shortly by Emilee who was “concussed” after slipping on the ice before ice skates were rented. I blame this solely on the “carryover” she had from the night before. With no surprise her and Mitch were up till 6 am hooting and hollering, haha man I miss those times :( So Mitch, Joey, Mike, and Josh attempted to ice skate during the tornado that was going on that morning with hockey sticks which was entertainment for us inside but they only lasted 30 mins before they hung up their skates. And if it wasn’t for that pesky inflation they would have gone tubing too but 30 bucks a person was a lil rich for our blood so we opted to go back to the cabin and drink. Of course once we got there the boys had cooked up some plan to go ice fishing with no proper equipment and maybe even sled down the lake damn, which from what I heard was pretty steep. Josh had bought one of those small snowboard things from Wal-Mart where you just slip your feet in some straps that they were going to take and try and ride down this hill. They would have taken Luke’s saucer but that didn’t make it past the first day thanks to Joey and a hidden rock. So the boys left on their half baked trip and the girls stayed behind and took naps which were of course interrupted because the boys had got the truck stuck while dragging josh behind the truck from a rope on his mini snowboard. Genius I tell ya, genius. So after everyone was back we all just chilled played some Wii and the boys played poker. All in all it was a great mini vacay and I can’t wait for next year!

Hey Big Baby!!

So I signed Luke up for this free class at a little place called Gymboree hahaha not really a little place but whatever. So he was suppose to go last Monday but of course it was a blizzard so I reschedule for the following Monday. And do you think this Monday I was as organized as the last (picking out what Luke was to wear that day to make sure he was in comfy clothes and setting them out for Josh, and packing snacks in his bag since we would be going right after babysitter time) of course not, so I pick Luke up from the sitter hoping he would be dressed semi nice, considering Josh dresses him in the mornings as Im gone for work before Luke gets up, some times it is interesting to see what Josh picks out to say the least. He is a man and as long as it semi fits Luke he’ll put it on him hahha So thankfully he was wearing a hoody and not his skinny jeans.

Side note about his skinny jeans: Ok so I buy his jeans at The Children’s Place because they always have super cute trendy jeans right, well I bought 2 pairs one day that were totally cute but when Luke went to wear them they turned out to be skinny jeans hahaha Now he looks really cute in them but watching him play in them is Ha Larious, he’s like the Tin Man walking around and trying to stand up without bending his knees. So they are more fashionable then functional. Next time I’ll pay more attention but he’s going to wear the shit out of those skinny jeans because they were not cheap and so will baby dos!!

Ok Anyways, thankfully Luke was in some decent attire to tumble around in at Gymboree. So I signed Luke up for the 19 month to 24 month class thinking that would be perfect because he’s 21 months, right in the middle. Well when we got there, there was only one girl there at the time that was really tiny. So I was already worried about Luke being too rough with her. So I tried to follow him around as much as possible to make sure he didn’t body slam this poor girl over a ball or something and hoping some other kids his size would show up that he could play around with. Well 5 other kids show up and for some reason Luke was a Mega Baby. Every single parent asked me how old he was considering he looked like he was in the wrong class hahaha. And I got the same response, “he’s a big boy” the funny thing is whenever we take him to the doctors he’s not “above” average in height or weight so I never think much of it till I see him around other kids. So the teacher started class and he did better then I thought he would with paying attention and doing what the teacher asked and only had a few instances where he man handle some of the other kids on accident not realizing he was bigger then them. So at the end of class I chatted with the teacher about if she thought we should put him in the older class as I didn’t want to offend any other parents with my giant baby. She of course agreed with that idea and thinks he’ll do fine with the 2 years olds so that’s what we will try next week and see how that goes. Till next weeks adventures with big baby, peace!

Mickey Mouse Magic Show

So Wendo and I took Luke to the Mickey Mouse Magic Show on Saturday afternoon. Now I think Luke has that baby ADD so he rarely sits and watches a lot of t.v because he’s always on the move, but one show that he likes and will request by name is “Mou”. He doesn’t quite have the “se” yet for mouse but he will grab the “mote” and hand it to you and say Mou when he wants to watch Mickey Mouse Club House. So when my mom saw that the Magic show was coming to Denver we bought some tickets to take him. Now Luke is usually a great napper (he gets that from me) and on “mom days” a.k.a the weekend when I have him all to myself because Josh works, dad days are Tuesdays and Wednesdays, he will usually take 2 naps for me, obviously because I'm the favorite haha but the one day I NEED him to take a early nap before we leave for the show he is having none of it. Just chatting with his monkeys upstairs in bed which then turns into a baby mosh pit of him jumping up and down and throwing blankets and cups out of the crib. So we opted for no nap before the show, I say we but really mean he, ugh so I was already nervous about his behavior now that he’s a full blown toddler with not so great communication skills and adding tired on top of it in a auditorium with hundreds of toddlers just like him! Quite the opposite of what my Saturdays use to look like! Not to mention it is snowing now! So we make the drive downtown with all the idiots out on the road that still don’t know how to drive in the snow some how after a good 10 snow storms under our belts this winter season. Luke did take a 15 min power nap before we got there which is always appreciated! We found our seats, yep second row from the top hahaha Im thrifty what can I say and we were on the aisle which is always nice. The little things you appreciate now during an outing with a baby tornado! Im not going to lie I was impressed with their magic show hahaha I even found my self asking “how do they do that” and then laughing at myself for being such a tool. Luke did well and was much more attentive this time around compared to the Wiggles concert we took him to a couple months ago and of course was spoiled with dumb over priced toys with Mickey’s face on them. I did feel bad for the kid behind us who asked his good old fashion fun hating mom for what ever Luke got and she would shoot him down every time and in a mean why it was actually a lil uncomfortable at times. I hope when Im two kids in and they are a couple years older that doesn’t turn into to me!!! Anyways, the show was good and Luke loved it, which is all that matters and we got out of the stampede and to our car with only one moment of me getting Billbo pissed (yeah you know when Bill Chavez gets super pissed about something really small, great character flaw I picked up from him) at Wendo because she thought we got off on the wrong parking garage floor so a pretty successful Chavez outing! When we finally made it home I was going to glue Luke’s little light up ball that was on top of this magic wand because it keep popping off but I really had to use the bathroom before I did it and of course while he was walking up the stairs to find me to whine at me some more about his broken wand he managed to rip the wires that were holding the ball on the wand and making it light up damn it. Twenty bucks down the drain which I didn’t mind so much because he was supper upset because he could tell that it was seriously broken. Poor lil man, made me cry too hahahah once again pregnancy hormones, I have no control over them!!! I put him down for his nap and tried to fix the wand but it involved splicing wires and stuff so that was a job more fit for Josh, its always nice to have a handy man around!!! Not that Luke even remembered he owned it once he got up for his nap though. Love my spoiled lil dude!

Its a Boy!!

So Josh and I are proud to announce that we are having another boy!! Josh and I could both tell it was a boy before the ultrasound tech made it official but it’s kind of hard to miss :) Now when she first said it’s a boy I was a lil sad when I realized I will never buy cute lil swim suits and polka dots and hot pink stuff (because I LOVE polka dots! So Josh is screwed and will forever have a hot pink bedroom with polka dots since I can’t have them any where else! He’s a good sport though!) But then flashes of lil girls in middle school flashed through my head from when I worked at a Middle School, with their short shorts and looking way to old for their age and I started remembering what I was like as a teenager and I got over it pretty quickly. I can’t say I ever wanted a sister growing up because big Luke was my best friend but I think that’s because I grew up with Tess so it was like having a sister but Im sure there was a time or two Luke wished I was a boy. So I just think it will be fun for Mini Luke to have a built in best friend. And my master plan of them sharing a room so I can have a women cave in the spare bedroom is all but a reality that is if Big Luke ever leaves (not that I want him too, I love having him as a roomie!) But some day ill have a room all to myself with no boys allowed hahaha and hopefully it’s not a shed out back which Josh proposed when I started talking about this idea. We’ll see!

So now for the name debate! Ugh Josh and I may be ex Life Partners before the next 4 months goes by trying to agree on a name for baby dos! So when I got pregnant with Luke I knew his name was always going to be Luke no matter what and I never thought about what would happen if I had another boy so I didn’t have any “reserves” in my name tank. So here I am 2 years later with nothing, and Josh with a name he “loves” I put loves in quotation because Im not sure he loves it or just thinks its really cool right now. So before I reveal the “name” I want to say Josh has already pulled out the big guns already saying he didn’t get much say with naming Luke so “he just doesn’t get any say in anything” is his argument. Now I can see where he is coming from and that’s why I have let this name stick around and have not totally said hell no yet hahaha. So without further ado the name Josh wants to name our precious baby boy is……Ride. Yep that’s it, just Ride, not Ryder, just Ride. Now I also want to put a disclaimer out there that this name was concocted during a night of drinking with him and my brother. Another factor I have against me as I have no names I absolutely love to throw in the mix, so this weekend I will be buying a stupid name book because the only way to get out of Ride is to have a better option!!! It also doesn’t help that Wendo has been heard saying that the name is growing on her the more she says it out loud, so I have told her to shut it and to stop saying it out loud and to keep her opinions to herself when Josh is around :) Wish me luck in my battle to give my unborn son a normal name!!

Christmas Videos Finally

So I have finally uploaded the videos I took on Christmas, only took me about a month hahaha So here are a few of Mini Luke on Christmas morning!

Here are some of him decorating Christmas Cookies

Big Luke Is Back!!!!!

Yeah that’s right my brother Big Luke is Back in A-Town and here to stay!!!!! And he such a peach in how he surprised me. So every year the day after Christmas I remind my family that my birthday is now only 15 days away :) And this year I told Luke that he is old enough to send me a present in the mail (a.k.a a card with at least his signature on it) So He texted me on my birthday with this; "Happy Birthday. Your present is in the mail (seriously). Well at lest I should send it today. Expect it later this week I guess." So I was thinking oh what a good lil brother sending his sister a birthday card. Well then Saturday had rolled around and I had totally forgotten about my "present" in the mail. It was about 10:30 and I had just put mini Luke down for his first nap and had opened the TiVo and was beginning to watch what my dad calls "trash tv" when I get a call from Luke. He proceeds to ask me if my present came yet and I was like no, and asked if it could fit in the mailbox because I never check the mail Josh does. He said no and that it should be left on my doorstep if I wasn’t home so I better go check outside since they deliver on Saturdays. So I said I would and when I opened up my door Luke was standing on my front porch. I was shocked to say the least and blurted out "how did you get here" and he said “I drove” So I then asked how long he would be here since driving from San Jose was quite the weekend drive and he said “Im here for forever” and of course the sally that I am starting crying because I was so happy. Im just so glad that mini Luke will be able to see his Uncle everyday (since he lives in my basement) and Josh has a friend to go out with now that I trust hahaha. So needless to say Im super excited that all our guilt tripping worked over Christmas and that my Brother is back. He is one of the most sincere and positive people I know and am truly blessed that he’s my brother!!!

Sledding Christmas Vacation style

Hahaha ok so it was nothing close to Griswold sledding but good enough for a 1 ½ year old. We have finally been getting snow here in Denver, it seemed like it took forever to get here but Im glad it finally did! We were lucky enough for it to stick to the streets and not melt right away like usual so instead of having to take Mini Luke somewhere we were able to just sled down our street! G-Ma bought him some overall snow pants and some snow boots, and he just looked so precious in all of his stuff! He had quite the audience as we went on New Year’s Day and there were a few boozehounds left over from the party that night for new years at Billy Bonney’s. It was a lot of fun and every one took turns even Aunt Heather who planned ahead with pajamas but forgot shoes, so she went down in her heels haha I have video of every one going down the hill its just a matter of organizing all the 30 videos I have taken over the last month so I will post those either tonight or tomorrow as I don’t have my flip here at work (yeah that’s right blogging on the job) Luke of course had an awesome time and so did the dogs! Diesel my parents pug would chase everyone down the hill and try and jump on them and Bossy my parents new English bull dog was obsessed with the sled, you’ve heard of these bulldogs skateboarding well this one sleds. She would get on the sled and push herself with one of her back legs, it was pretty entertaining. I’ll post a video of her doing this also, and we have decided once it gets nice again well have to get her on a skateboard. I have a few pics from my phone of Luke in the snow, he absolutely loves it and would stay out there all day if you let him no matter how red his cheeks got. He’s even sneaking out the doggy door to play in it! Of course one of his favorite things to do is shovel, is anyone surprised?!? He loves to clean I can just hope that this trait stays with him forever!!!

“23” Birthday!

So three days ago I turned 23 years old! Man it feels good to still be on the right side of 20 :) Now I found it not as hard to have a sober birthday this time around considering I am a mom now and I can see the results of my hard work hahaha I opted to just have dinner at one of my favorite places Red Robin. What pregnant girl doesn’t love a big ass burger all in her face right!?! So I sent an invite out on face book the wed before not thinking very many people would be able to make it considering it was such late notice. But I don’t give my friends and family enough credit, they all showed up and it really made me think about life. I am overcome by joy with how my life has turned out. Im incredibly lucky to be able to be a mother to the most amazing lil dude ever and soon to baby dos and to have such an amazing supportive life partner who loves me for me no matter how crazy I am. My Mom and Dad rock and I couldn’t do any of this without them and am forever grateful. My friends who are more like family are the best a girl could ask for and I am thankful they let me be a part of their lives! Its nice every once in awhile to get together with everyone and have a good time and remember everything that happened that night hahaha don’t get me wrong I like a good blackout mode night just as much as the next person, its just nice to mix it up :) I even received a few gifts which is never necessary unless your name is Joshua Judd! (Who by the way bought me the perfect watch I have been wanting, he did good!) My uncle Lloyd and Aunt Cindie even searched high and low to get me my favorite mint chocolate chip ice cream cake! At one point they even contemplated making their own, now that’s love people! Mini Luke even won me some bracelets in a lil kid claw game all by himself, and I still cant get myself to take them off, yep so Im sporting a hot pink silly bandz or whatever they are called to work like a 13 year old girl along with a maroon peace sign bracelet. What can you do, they were the best gifts I got all weekend! I cant say thank you enough for everyone who came out. Here’s to another year of love, laughter, and the occasional crazy time. Love you all, Roll Tide!

Christmas Tookies!

So we decided that we were going to let Luke try and help decorate Christmas cookies this year since he has a lil more hand, eye coordination compared to last year. I made some plain old sugar cookies and gave Luke his own lil bowls with his green and red frosting. He was prepared with his mini Gerber kids knife and ready to roll. G- ma and G-Pa came over in their Bronco and Nuggets Santa hats of course to help decorate also. At first Luke did try and use his lil butter knife but after about 3 attempts of spreading the frosting on his cookie he of course resorted to finger painting as most toddlers do. And then after a few attempts at finger painting his cookie he decided to bypass the whole cookie thing and put the frosting directly into his mouth. What can I say the kid is efficient! The green and red frosting soon turned into a gray mixture on his face and everywhere else but he didn’t seem too concerned. He “decorated” 2 cookies before we put a stop to the madness as he was going to have a seizure from the amount of sugar in his system. We washed his face and changed his close as it was time to drive around and look at Christmas lights. He really enjoyed this also, ohhing and ahhing at all of them it was quite precious if I do say so. So all in all it was a good old fashion family time and Im am thankful to have shared it with my favorite peeps and hopefully next year Big Luke will have moved back that punk!

Where the Hell did 2010 Go!!!

So as I sit here at work and realize its New Years Eve (loses some of the luster when you cant get into black out mode with the rest of the drunks!) I can’t believe another year has gone by already! I hate that everything goes by so fast now that the Lil man is here. He’s going to be 2 before we know and have a partner in crime! Im just so thankful for the year me and my lil family has had, so many blessing wrapped in 1 year. I just hope 2011 is just as great!! Hope everyone has a save night and gets to enjoy it with the ones they love like me :) Peave and Love!

Christmas Time!!

So this year we decided to take Luke back to Bass Pro Shop to get his picture with Santa. We like the idea of getting a ticket with a time to come back and wait in line for less time then if everyone was waiting in one huge line! So we had about 45 mins to kill in the store, which is huge with all kinds of fun stuff so it went buy fast. Luke got to check out their huge fish tank and all the stuffed life size animals through out the store. He even got to shoot a fake rifle with dad. And before we knew it was time to get in line for Santa. Now this almost went terribly wrong as when I went to go buy Luke a snack while we waited in line someone (the guy behind us) grabbed our ticket out of our cart!! Can you believe that who steals someone else’s ticket while in line to see freaking Santa Clause!! So I decided that I will let this douche bag behind us slide as long as they let Luke get his picture taken once we get to the front of the line, because if not and we had to get a new time card I was going to let that man have it and make a scene of a lifetime, knowing its better me then Josh hahaha as he would probably just punched the dude. Josh is usually pretty calm unless you’re messing with Luke and it’s a whole nether story. Luckily the "elf" at the front didn't care that we didn't have one but believe me if looks could kill that guy would be dead! Alright enough of my rant, so I was a lil worried how Luke was going to do with Santa this year as he’s a lil shy at first around Strangers and I knew we wouldn't have enough time for him to warm up to him. So Josh put him on his Lap and Luke wasn't really sure what to think about the fat man but he definitely wanted Josh to pick him up. He didn't cry so that was a plus, but hopefully next year he will be a lil more excited :) Here are some videos I shot with my new Flip Camera, that I absolutely Love and would recommend! Fits in your purse for videos on the go!

Baby Boy is Gone!

So My friend Katie and I were hanging out at my house while Josh repalced her breaks, when my Mom came in with Luke complaining that he needed a hair cut. Now I wasn’t so keen on the idea as I love his messy hair but she wasn’t the first to say “that boy needs a hair cut” So I thought what the hell Katie is here who is a hair stylist so I asked her if she would cut the mad mans hair, which of course she agreed too. She began to cut his hair and Luke was having none of it, wiggling everywhere, whinnying, etc… So when she was done she said “I dint mean to cut it so short but he wouldn’t sit still” haha so as you can imagine it was pretty short considering his hair was super long. She cut it so I could do a lil faux hawk and it turned out SUPER cute! But for the next 2 days I cried a lil bit because he looked so grown up, (now I blame the crying on these hormones solely!) He looks very handsome of course with his big boy hair cut but I have decided to let it grow out again as Im not ready to lose his babyness quite yet!

Baby Dos on the Way!

So Josh and I are expecting another baby here in June! This one was a planned baby which I found much scarier then Mini Luke our “Surprise” baby hahaha We didn’t really tell people we were “trying” because I didn’t want people asking me every time they saw me “so are you pregnant yet” as I wasn’t sure how long it would take, I’ve heard stories of years so could you imagine people asking you for a years! I the “easily annoyed one” as some like to call me could not, so we kept it to ourselves mostly and a few others. Of course it only took one time to knock me up again so I really only would have had to hear the questions for a few days haha us Chavez’s don’t mess around, I am half Mexican remember :) So this time we knew right away that I was pregnant unlike with Luke which I didn’t know for 2 months! So I wanted to keep it a secret till I got a lil further along but Josh and my dad are the worst secret keepers ever, So most of you of course know but now that I am about 15 weeks I thought I could blog about it now. This pregnancy I have been SUPER sick all day and even in the middle of the night! I puke about everyday and just feel really hung-over all day but with out the reward of having an awesome night before!! Im also super tired no matter how much sleep I get. Josh is convinced it’s a girl because “its sucking the life out of me and that’s what women do” hahaha I died laughing when he said this and if it is a girl we wont tell her daddy said that. I think it’s a boy but Im sure it’s just because I have always said I wanted boys so we will see, we don’t find out for another month! I’ve tried to explain to Mini Luke that there is a baby is mom’s tummy, but every time I point to my stomach and say “baby” he just points to himself and says “baby”, so we will see how he takes it, so far not so good. Other then that we of course are so excited to be adding to our lil family, but this is it people, there’s no way I’m doing another 9 months of this! I would also like to say that it rocks that my cousin Tess will be having a baby a month after me so that they can grow up like siblings like Big Luke and I did with our cousins (too many to name :) ) As long as they both are not girls, as the world does not need another Val and Tess combo trust me! I don’t really have a bump yet as there was still some “let over” form Mini Luke (bless his soul) but as it arrives ill post pics, Peace and Love

Lukes First Nuggs Game!

So my company had a bunch of Nuggets tickets for sale a couple weeks ago and it was “Youth Night” so I thought it was a perfect opportunity to take Luke to his first Nuggs game and see how he did considering there would be thousands of other lil brats running around the Pepsi Center. Unfortunately Josh had to work but Bill Bo and Wendo were able to join in on this first. I was completely shocked at how well he did. I figured we would have to leave around half time since Luke’s bed time is usually around 8 and the game didn’t start till 7! I was able to buy some decent seats since they were discounted form our company so we got to sit pretty close. He was really entertained and of course loved the mascot Rocky, (he is the best mascot in the league you know) any time he would start to get a lil restless we would just say “where’s rocky” and he would look around for him and then just watch whatever crazy antics he was getting into. He also started waving with an open hand that night if that makes sense hahaha you know how kids wave bye bye with what I like to call the one hand clap yeah that’s what he use to do but after watching all the other kids waving to Rocky when he would get close to them he started waving like a big boy :) I also bought him a lil Rocky stuff animal because the kid behind him had one and Luke was all about it, so I figured why not, once he forgets about it in 2 weeks ill take it over to Billy Bonny’s where you can never have too much sports memorabilia. He made it the whole game without one Luke Chavez blow up (both big and mini Luke have these) he even stayed awake the whole car ride home so I think he had a good time and we will definitely take him back!

Luke’s Half Birthday!

So Luke’s half birthday was on November 4th so Wendo and I decided to take him to
Chuck E Cheese for the first time. I should have taken him on his actual half birthday which fell on a Thursday but we ended up only having time to both go during the weekend. Which was a huge mistake! I will never go again on a weekend, it was insane! And my lil man is entirely too polite to go back for a while! He’ll have to wait till he has figure out how to push back haha. He did have fun though on the rides that G-ma and I were able to box out for him. He would just stand and wait patiently until it was his turn which is not the rules of the land at that place. I could only handle a good hour there before I was going to start thumping other people’s kids. But he got to eat pizza, play all his tokens, and dance with Chuck E so it was a successful trip, but we wont be back for awhile :)

I'm Fired

Alright so I know my bid for mother of the year 2010 is probably not going to be selected as I have not updated in almost 3 months hahaha but good thing its almost 2011! There’s always next year people!! So holy hell where to start?!? SO its looks like my last post was in September so let’s start with Halloween and go from there.

I was about to write I “always” like Luke to go as something original for Halloween when I realized this was only his second and I better wait on that “always” till he’s about 10, but anyways I decided that he would go as John Belushi’s character in Animal House, John Blutarsky. Random, yes, but my parents have a couple of those cards that play a lil tune when you open it at their house and Luke loves the one that is from Animal House in which it chants “Toga, Toga, Toga” every time you open it, he walks around with it chanting, hence the Blutarsky costume was invented. So he had a toga outfit for when he was inside and a COLLEGE sweatshirt for when he would go out to trick or treat considering we live in Colorado and it’s always cold on Halloween. I did wait till the day of to make his costumes but I think they turned out alright. He wouldnt sit still for me to take a pic of his college sweatshirt so they are both a lil blurry but as good as i could get :)

No more open mouth kisses????

So yesterday after picking lil man up from daycare I was asking him for some smooches and instead of coming at me with his mouth wide open he puckered up his perfect lil lips for me! Now don’t get me wrong I’m going to miss his frenching but I will not miss having to wipe away the after math of such kisses haha. But I may be getting a little ahead of myself because this morning when I asked for smooches before I left for work he planted a nice wet open mouth kiss on me and Josh was like “see he didn’t pucker up for you” Now I was expecting this type of comment from my wonderful loving boyfriend but lil did he know I got proof of this exchange Luke and I had the day before, sucka hahaha

Mini Chatty Cathy

So Luke is growing up so fast I can’t even stand it. He is starting to say a lot more things besides his favorite Ball. I think me saying “everything can’t be ball Luke” after he would point at everything and say “ball” is starting to work! His new favorite word is Dudie yah that’s right dudie. But he doest say it in regards to potty training, our dog’s name is The Dude but over the years it has turned into Dudie and now that’s what Luke calls him. He will follow him around the house just saying it over and over. Bless Dude’s lil pug soul because he takes a beating from him. Luke thinks they are Wrestle Mania partners or something, maybe because he’s the only thing smaller then him that moves haha. He has also learned how to say “more” of course anything food related he’s going to catch on really quick. So whenever he wants more he can communicate it now instead of just whinnying which is kind of nice except I hear “more” 60 times a day. He knows the difference between his bot ball (football) and his other ones and notices “bot ball” when it is on t.v now too. He has also been known to say bye bye on occasion along with “tequila” haha ok the last one is a joke but he does have one of those singing and dancing stuff animals you get at Walgreens and places like that, that dances to that song Tequila by The Ventures or made famous by Pee Wee Herman when he danced to it at the infamous biker bar hahaha. Anyways Luke loves to dance with this silly stuffed dog and one night my mom and I started it for him and at the end he tried to say tequila, it was Hilarious and would have won us 10,000 bucks on Americas funniest home videos but of course he wouldn’t do it again when I pulled out the video camera, oh well can't quit my day job quite yet! Incase you forgot Pee Wee’s dance here it is… Enjoy, imagine Mini Luke dancing around to this haha

Dancing Queen... I mean King

So we have a dancer on our hands. And he is not a one trick pony, oh no he loves it all! Considering Josh likes Hip Hop and R&B, And I tend to listen to Classic Rock and whatever 93.3 is playing, God knows what his G-Pa has him listening too over in that garage, and of course G-ma’s favorite Kid Rock. Needles to say Luke has been exposed to a lot of different types of music and now has different dances for each. He has a hip hop dance which involves a lot of hand swaying back and forth, he likes to what we call “stomp the yard” to any type of music where he will stomp just one foot on the ground as he dances. And then he has the swaying hippie dance we call it, who he had to have pick up from his Uncle Luke. Now like I have said in previous posts Luke is really aware of when he is being videoed so I was able to capture this video while at my friend Katie’s house in the dark while he wasn’t paying attention so I apologize for the grainy footage.

I’m in trouble!

So for Luke’s 1st birthday I thought it would be a great idea to buy him a lil skate board so him and his dad could “ride” together. And by “ride” I mean josh hold him while he scooted him around on it. Well Luke had other ideas. This kid already stands on it all by him self and does this jumping motion while on it. Now I thought it was the cutest thing at first while we watched him figure it out downstairs on the carpet a month ago. I remember thinking to myself he’s just so smart and picks up on the most random things. Like I’ve said I ask him where his damn nose is everyday and he still will not cooperate but watches Josh play Skate on the X-Box once and is all of a sudden a skate pro. So while we sit downstairs just watching him Josh says to me “watch this” he proceeds to pick Luke up on his skateboard and take him to our bottom stair. He puts Luke on the board and acts like Luke does some crazy jump off the stairs as he holds the board to Luke’s feet. Now we all laugh and clap but after Luke is done clapping he picks up his board and goes right for the stairs. Yep, puts his board up on the stair and stars climbing up the stairs and gets on the board, of course Josh thinks this is Hilarious and that he is the next Rob Dyrdek I on the other hand start having flashes from the future involving hospitals and neon casts. Now we have created a monster! I don’t mind him playing on it downstairs on the nice fluffy carpet but he will pick it right up and maneuver his way up the stairs with board in hand to the wood floor where he knows the board actually rolls! I’ve been trying to get video of this phenomenon but Luke has a sense of when the camera is on and stops whatever he is doing and wants to watch what you’re watching on the screen which obviously doesn’t work for me trying to capture these moments so it’s a work in progress

The Boy Genius is at it again!

My boy is Brilliant! Well when it comes to food anyways

So I thought I would share with you guys a lil ditty that happened yesterday while I was at work. I get a phone call about 9:00am from Josh hootin and hollerin in my ear. When I finally get him to stop laughing in the phone he told me that our son is a genius. Yep that’s right you heard me a GENIUS hahaha. Now don’t get too excited it’s only in the “feed me” department. So here it goes, Josh and Luke are downstairs watching some good old fashion Sesame Street when Josh turns to Luke and asks “are you hungry”. Now this type of question is usually answered by him yelling something that you don’t understand and him “running” or walking fast upstairs to the kitchen where he knows the goods are. Well that day he didn’t say or should I say yell gibberish. He simply kept watching the Street. So Josh walks up stairs and starts to cut a banana up and put it in a bowl for him. As he is on his way down he sees Luke ready to eat. Which means he grabbed his chair from his toy corner lifted it up on to the couch, then shimmied his way up onto the couch and then sat down in his chair and waited patiently with his tray in hand for Josh to come down with his breakfast all by himself. I tell ya the kid can’t tell you where his freaking nose is but when it comes to eating he’ll figure it out :) Till we meet again friends, Peace and Love

I'm on a Boat!

We took Luke to Cherry Creek Reservoir last weekend so he could take his first ride on my parent’s boat! He was of course in what we like to call "baby ahh" where he’s not quite sure how to act and he just stares at things hahaha. But I think he had a good time, although if it was up to him he would have just played on the shore the whole day. His girlfriend Presleigh came to hang out also and we got some really cute pics of them!

Going back back to blogging blogging

Holy Hell its been awhile since I have wrote! Unfortunately I have been crazy busy at work, and just haven’t had the time to blog. But hopefully now that it’s a new quarter at work I will have a lil more free time to post about my BFF. SO a lot of shenanigans have gone down during my hiatus. Luke turned 1! He’s freaking walking! We moved into a way bigger house that happens to be across the street from my parents, just to name a few.

So First. Luke’s 1st steps!

So our lil man took his firsts steps 3 days before his 1st birthday! Josh and I were both there which totally rocks and we both cried hahahaha. We were in the living room just hanging out on Josh’s day off and he took 3 whole steps from me to Josh it was one of the most amazing things I had ever witnessed besides the Broncos winning their 1st Super Bowl in ’98 and Luke’s lil face the day he was born :) Any ways, he’s been on the move ever sense. It’s 2 months later and its weird to see him crawl now. Crazy how fast things happen!

Next Luke turns 1!

Can you believe it! Fastest year of my life and I have a feeling they are just going to get faster! I can’t believe it has been a year since our lil man came a month early. I can’t even put into words how much I love him and what a true blessing he has been to not just me but my family also. (yep crying a lil at work while writing hahaha) He is the greatest thing I have done with my life and I thank god everyday that he is mine! Alright enough of that lovie dovie crap. So on his actual birthday I took the day off and we took him to the Zoo for the first time. He loved it and I was surprised how alert he was and interested in all the crazy animals. We also we had a party at our house that weekend and of course the weather is sketchy in May so it was cloudy which sucks but we got everything in before it got too cold. He had a few “friends” come but mostly adults hahaha. I made him his own monkey cake to get at which he had no problem with. Josh and I opened presents since he wasn’t really into it and was overdue for a nap! He was completely spoiled by our friends and family, which we are lucky to have! Here are some pics of his days..

Moving Day!

So after finally convincing Josh (I always get my way haha) we have moved in across the street from my parents on good old Cathay St! I know this may sound crazy to 90% of you reading this but everyone knows Luke and I have a special and different bond with our parents that not a lot of people have. I am very thankful for this and am so excited and happy to be just a short walk away! Especially for Mini Luke’s sake, well and for my peace of mind when he’s acting like his alter ego Hell boy! The house is the exact layout as my parents with just a few differences. Usually it takes me awhile to feel at home after moving but I feel like I have lived here my whole life, weird maybe because I have, just across the street haha. I haven’t decided on how to paint still so its definitely a work in progress but I want to make sure its exactly what I want since we will be here for a long time! We have our very own neighbor hood watch which includes Bill Bo and Wendo and they are always on high alert, which comes in handy when you fall asleep before turning your water off in the front yard :) Its nice to have soooo much space now, the house doesn’t get as cluttered so fast which rocks because that is less cleaning for me!
