Family Pics 2010

So my long time friend Jessica Chavez is quite the photographer (no we are not related, weird I know), so I had asked her to come over and take some pics of us considering I'm never in them because I’m always the one taking them! Therefore a couple Saturdays ago she came over in the morning before Josh had to go to work. Now taking into account that I am a first time mom, I didn’t even think about scheduling around Luke’s much needed nap time. So the whole time he was just salty, he was just having none of it! As a result there are maybe 3 pics out of a crap ton that he cracked a smile for us haha what can you do. So don’t mind Luke’s permanent wrinkle brow…

I wish you didn't have the devils curly hair

I haven’t been feeling very creative lately, hence not many posts this month. So I decided why not just do a picture montage. Everyone loves a montage.

So first, I had decided that the curly hair gene is pretty dominant. So I googled that shit and of course I was right :) Now I have a very love hate relationship with what I like to call the rats nest. And I was hoping Luke didn’t get it but unfortunately my genes kicked Josh’s genes butts and Luke’s hair has a tendency to be curly after a bath. I find it precious and funny now and try to make it as curly as possible when his hair is wet and maybe he will grow out of these curls but we will see. Check it…

I can’t resist putting him in ridiculous hats for some reason. And now its kind of a thing so I can’t stop now hahah

Love to Love the Nuggs!

So unfortunately it looks like Josh tore his ACL at work which means I am now in charge of yard work booooo. There are certain things I do not do in our relationship, take out the trash, shovel, or mow the lawn. Thank goodness winter is over because shoveling snow is my all time least favorite thing to do! So a couple weekends ago I was out raking leaves and taking down x-mas lights. That’s right I said x-mas lights. So I brought Luke out to enjoy the awesome weather we were having. But he is still in that stage of putting EVERYTHING in his mouth! Every 2 seconds I was taking something out of his mouth. And once I got a decent pile of leaves together he was all about it!

But he is fianlly getting big enough to enjoy it outside

He is getting so big! I can’t believe he is going to be walking soon!

Luke's 1st Easter!

This comes about a week late but what can you do, Anyhow last weekend marked Luke’s 1st Easter! We went up to my friend Emilee’s house on Saturday to dye eggs with her and her niece and nephew, yes she is a functioning adult with out the hangover haha. Luke didn’t actually dye any eggs considering he is 11 months old and he would probably just want to drink the dye and throw the eggs but he was an awesome spectator. He actually was “decorated” with a lot of the stickers that come in the egg dying kits which he thought was pretty cool.

On Sunday we went over to my G-ma’s house for lunch/dinner and Luke’s first egg hunt! This was the first time I was supposed to bring something like the adults do. I was assigned the veggie try… and do you think I went out and purchased this tray a head of time, absolutely not. So it’s the day of and Josh and I try 3 stores and they are all out of the stupid veggie tray so I had to show up empty handed for my first mission. Just my luck, next time I’ll have to be more prepared haha.

On to the Egg hunt! I strategically placed 3 eggs in the wide open in the back yard so Luke would be able to find them since he was the only one crawling in this hunt. Of course we didn’t get out there first and those 3 eggs were picked up so fast I didn’t even see who grabbed them! Luckily I was part of the “hiding” crew so I just went and found 3 more for Luke. I put Luke down and he was off! He still wants to put anything and everything in his mouth so that first egg he grabbed went right in. Now the dye isn’t the most permanent thing and Luke instantly had a blue month. So I take the egg from him to put in his “basket” (yeah mother of the year over here forgot his basket at home so he was using a plastic king soopers bag, classy I know) and he throws a fit, just mad haha. Crying and waving his hands in the air till you point out the 2 other eggs in the yard. Given that he is a genius he found all 3 eggs haha and was mad every time you took one way but all he wanted to do was crush them and put them in his mouth. Josh then took him around looking for the ones in tress and what not. All in all it was a good time and I am excited for next year when he’s running around with the other kids.

Btws, Luke’s first basket included kixs and these Gerber arrowroot cookies that Luke absolutely LOVES. I’m talking we have to keep them in the cabinet or out of sight because if he sees them he will not stop bugging you ( and by bugging I mean yelling at you) till you give them to him, Fatty! hahaha

And he just looks precious here!
