Oh Valentines Day

Now I know some people like to hate on Valentines Day and this may come as a surprise to some but I actually enjoy the day! I don’t see anything wrong with the card and candy companies reminding me to remind my Life Partner how much I love him and care for him. Granted this may be because Im not the lovey dovey type so it makes me say and do things I would normally do or say on a typical day. So I like having an excuse to write mushy things in a card or give “because I love you presents” to Josh and my mini Valentine. What can it hurt to have a day that makes you say the things you have neglected to say through out the year, not because you don’t mean them or don’t want to say them but because you become so comfortable with that person, sometimes you forget to tell them how much they mean to you! So I would like to give a shout out to my Joshy, I love you and am forever grateful for the changes you have made the last couple years to be the “husband” and father that Luke and I are proud to have. I’ll love you forever and look forward to many more years together raising our lil family of 4! And to my lil man Luke, mama loves you more then you’ll ever know and am thankful you chose me! You have done nothing but make my life better since you arrived and I am just the luckiest mom in the world to have you! And for my baby dos, I can’t wait to meet you and want to thank you for making my lil family whole, I love you.

Love you Poop!

My Mini Valentine!

Cabin Fever!

So we took a mini vacay up to Red Feathers Lake with some friends this past weekend. My friend Mitch (a.k.a Michele) and her family have been going up there for years and a couple years ago, before Luke was born, we went up for the weekend and had a blast. It has a hot tub, sleeps 8 comfortable but a crap ton if you bring your own blow up mattress. They have tubing and ice skating close by along with make shaft sledding and snow boarding hills if you are the boys :) And don’t forget just a good old fashion drunken time. Now this time around was a little different, well for me anyways considering Im pregnant, and pregnant people are allowed to have no fun! No drinking, no hot tub, no tubing, no nothing mer mer mer! But I had fun anyways just bullshitting around the cabin with friends I don’t get to see as much as I would like. Mini Luke also wasn’t able to participate in the reindeer games but for another reason, he’s a baby. Don’t let his huge head fool you, he’s a child. But he also didn’t let that bring him down, he played the piano, ate a bunch of crap he wouldn’t normally eat, and was spoiled by everyone there. I was looking forward to seeing him ice skate but it was so windy that’s that there was no way he would have been able to do it. The wind would have picked him up and blew him back to Fort Collins. The wind was blowing Mitch and Josh all over the place, granted those two should eat a sandwich every once in awhile but that’s beside the point. So Mini Luke and I watched form the restaurant with Corey and Steph who is also 5 months pregnant and not allowed to have fun. We were joined shortly by Emilee who was “concussed” after slipping on the ice before ice skates were rented. I blame this solely on the “carryover” she had from the night before. With no surprise her and Mitch were up till 6 am hooting and hollering, haha man I miss those times :( So Mitch, Joey, Mike, and Josh attempted to ice skate during the tornado that was going on that morning with hockey sticks which was entertainment for us inside but they only lasted 30 mins before they hung up their skates. And if it wasn’t for that pesky inflation they would have gone tubing too but 30 bucks a person was a lil rich for our blood so we opted to go back to the cabin and drink. Of course once we got there the boys had cooked up some plan to go ice fishing with no proper equipment and maybe even sled down the lake damn, which from what I heard was pretty steep. Josh had bought one of those small snowboard things from Wal-Mart where you just slip your feet in some straps that they were going to take and try and ride down this hill. They would have taken Luke’s saucer but that didn’t make it past the first day thanks to Joey and a hidden rock. So the boys left on their half baked trip and the girls stayed behind and took naps which were of course interrupted because the boys had got the truck stuck while dragging josh behind the truck from a rope on his mini snowboard. Genius I tell ya, genius. So after everyone was back we all just chilled played some Wii and the boys played poker. All in all it was a great mini vacay and I can’t wait for next year!

Hey Big Baby!!

So I signed Luke up for this free class at a little place called Gymboree hahaha not really a little place but whatever. So he was suppose to go last Monday but of course it was a blizzard so I reschedule for the following Monday. And do you think this Monday I was as organized as the last (picking out what Luke was to wear that day to make sure he was in comfy clothes and setting them out for Josh, and packing snacks in his bag since we would be going right after babysitter time) of course not, so I pick Luke up from the sitter hoping he would be dressed semi nice, considering Josh dresses him in the mornings as Im gone for work before Luke gets up, some times it is interesting to see what Josh picks out to say the least. He is a man and as long as it semi fits Luke he’ll put it on him hahha So thankfully he was wearing a hoody and not his skinny jeans.

Side note about his skinny jeans: Ok so I buy his jeans at The Children’s Place because they always have super cute trendy jeans right, well I bought 2 pairs one day that were totally cute but when Luke went to wear them they turned out to be skinny jeans hahaha Now he looks really cute in them but watching him play in them is Ha Larious, he’s like the Tin Man walking around and trying to stand up without bending his knees. So they are more fashionable then functional. Next time I’ll pay more attention but he’s going to wear the shit out of those skinny jeans because they were not cheap and so will baby dos!!

Ok Anyways, thankfully Luke was in some decent attire to tumble around in at Gymboree. So I signed Luke up for the 19 month to 24 month class thinking that would be perfect because he’s 21 months, right in the middle. Well when we got there, there was only one girl there at the time that was really tiny. So I was already worried about Luke being too rough with her. So I tried to follow him around as much as possible to make sure he didn’t body slam this poor girl over a ball or something and hoping some other kids his size would show up that he could play around with. Well 5 other kids show up and for some reason Luke was a Mega Baby. Every single parent asked me how old he was considering he looked like he was in the wrong class hahaha. And I got the same response, “he’s a big boy” the funny thing is whenever we take him to the doctors he’s not “above” average in height or weight so I never think much of it till I see him around other kids. So the teacher started class and he did better then I thought he would with paying attention and doing what the teacher asked and only had a few instances where he man handle some of the other kids on accident not realizing he was bigger then them. So at the end of class I chatted with the teacher about if she thought we should put him in the older class as I didn’t want to offend any other parents with my giant baby. She of course agreed with that idea and thinks he’ll do fine with the 2 years olds so that’s what we will try next week and see how that goes. Till next weeks adventures with big baby, peace!

Mickey Mouse Magic Show

So Wendo and I took Luke to the Mickey Mouse Magic Show on Saturday afternoon. Now I think Luke has that baby ADD so he rarely sits and watches a lot of t.v because he’s always on the move, but one show that he likes and will request by name is “Mou”. He doesn’t quite have the “se” yet for mouse but he will grab the “mote” and hand it to you and say Mou when he wants to watch Mickey Mouse Club House. So when my mom saw that the Magic show was coming to Denver we bought some tickets to take him. Now Luke is usually a great napper (he gets that from me) and on “mom days” a.k.a the weekend when I have him all to myself because Josh works, dad days are Tuesdays and Wednesdays, he will usually take 2 naps for me, obviously because I'm the favorite haha but the one day I NEED him to take a early nap before we leave for the show he is having none of it. Just chatting with his monkeys upstairs in bed which then turns into a baby mosh pit of him jumping up and down and throwing blankets and cups out of the crib. So we opted for no nap before the show, I say we but really mean he, ugh so I was already nervous about his behavior now that he’s a full blown toddler with not so great communication skills and adding tired on top of it in a auditorium with hundreds of toddlers just like him! Quite the opposite of what my Saturdays use to look like! Not to mention it is snowing now! So we make the drive downtown with all the idiots out on the road that still don’t know how to drive in the snow some how after a good 10 snow storms under our belts this winter season. Luke did take a 15 min power nap before we got there which is always appreciated! We found our seats, yep second row from the top hahaha Im thrifty what can I say and we were on the aisle which is always nice. The little things you appreciate now during an outing with a baby tornado! Im not going to lie I was impressed with their magic show hahaha I even found my self asking “how do they do that” and then laughing at myself for being such a tool. Luke did well and was much more attentive this time around compared to the Wiggles concert we took him to a couple months ago and of course was spoiled with dumb over priced toys with Mickey’s face on them. I did feel bad for the kid behind us who asked his good old fashion fun hating mom for what ever Luke got and she would shoot him down every time and in a mean why it was actually a lil uncomfortable at times. I hope when Im two kids in and they are a couple years older that doesn’t turn into to me!!! Anyways, the show was good and Luke loved it, which is all that matters and we got out of the stampede and to our car with only one moment of me getting Billbo pissed (yeah you know when Bill Chavez gets super pissed about something really small, great character flaw I picked up from him) at Wendo because she thought we got off on the wrong parking garage floor so a pretty successful Chavez outing! When we finally made it home I was going to glue Luke’s little light up ball that was on top of this magic wand because it keep popping off but I really had to use the bathroom before I did it and of course while he was walking up the stairs to find me to whine at me some more about his broken wand he managed to rip the wires that were holding the ball on the wand and making it light up damn it. Twenty bucks down the drain which I didn’t mind so much because he was supper upset because he could tell that it was seriously broken. Poor lil man, made me cry too hahahah once again pregnancy hormones, I have no control over them!!! I put him down for his nap and tried to fix the wand but it involved splicing wires and stuff so that was a job more fit for Josh, its always nice to have a handy man around!!! Not that Luke even remembered he owned it once he got up for his nap though. Love my spoiled lil dude!

Its a Boy!!

So Josh and I are proud to announce that we are having another boy!! Josh and I could both tell it was a boy before the ultrasound tech made it official but it’s kind of hard to miss :) Now when she first said it’s a boy I was a lil sad when I realized I will never buy cute lil swim suits and polka dots and hot pink stuff (because I LOVE polka dots! So Josh is screwed and will forever have a hot pink bedroom with polka dots since I can’t have them any where else! He’s a good sport though!) But then flashes of lil girls in middle school flashed through my head from when I worked at a Middle School, with their short shorts and looking way to old for their age and I started remembering what I was like as a teenager and I got over it pretty quickly. I can’t say I ever wanted a sister growing up because big Luke was my best friend but I think that’s because I grew up with Tess so it was like having a sister but Im sure there was a time or two Luke wished I was a boy. So I just think it will be fun for Mini Luke to have a built in best friend. And my master plan of them sharing a room so I can have a women cave in the spare bedroom is all but a reality that is if Big Luke ever leaves (not that I want him too, I love having him as a roomie!) But some day ill have a room all to myself with no boys allowed hahaha and hopefully it’s not a shed out back which Josh proposed when I started talking about this idea. We’ll see!

So now for the name debate! Ugh Josh and I may be ex Life Partners before the next 4 months goes by trying to agree on a name for baby dos! So when I got pregnant with Luke I knew his name was always going to be Luke no matter what and I never thought about what would happen if I had another boy so I didn’t have any “reserves” in my name tank. So here I am 2 years later with nothing, and Josh with a name he “loves” I put loves in quotation because Im not sure he loves it or just thinks its really cool right now. So before I reveal the “name” I want to say Josh has already pulled out the big guns already saying he didn’t get much say with naming Luke so “he just doesn’t get any say in anything” is his argument. Now I can see where he is coming from and that’s why I have let this name stick around and have not totally said hell no yet hahaha. So without further ado the name Josh wants to name our precious baby boy is……Ride. Yep that’s it, just Ride, not Ryder, just Ride. Now I also want to put a disclaimer out there that this name was concocted during a night of drinking with him and my brother. Another factor I have against me as I have no names I absolutely love to throw in the mix, so this weekend I will be buying a stupid name book because the only way to get out of Ride is to have a better option!!! It also doesn’t help that Wendo has been heard saying that the name is growing on her the more she says it out loud, so I have told her to shut it and to stop saying it out loud and to keep her opinions to herself when Josh is around :) Wish me luck in my battle to give my unborn son a normal name!!
