And Sleep

So we made it out of WA alive, DUI free, and Drama free! We had such an awesome time and as always didn’t want to leave. The first day Josh was already talking about wanting to move there, I had to tell him to tone it down, he forgets that this rats nest that sits on top of my head doesn't do well in the humidity. If he thinks i look like a hot mess after a night of drinking imagine adding humidity to the mix!

Jesse and Lisa were the best hostesses ever and I would recommend their "bed and breakfast" for any one visiting! We are truly lucky to have them. Luke had an awesome time hanging out with his cousins but is still a lil young to participate in all the mischief that the sneaky ninjas (Jude and Madden) were getting into.

Our first plane ride with Luke went… lets say tolerable hahaha. Of course Josh thought it went completely fine but he is not as aware of others around him as I am to put it nicely. I feel bad for the guy who sat in front of Josh and Luke because he must of thought there was a mosh pit going on behind him considering Luke was kicking his seat which seemed like the entire flight to me. The guy finally leaned forward to nap which lowered my anxiety a lil. And not to mention the dreadful flight attendant who wouldn’t let me wait in line to change Luke’s diaper. I tried to be nice but she was having none of it so I had to send Josh up there to get it done. Sure enough he was next in the bathroom, and I decided I didn’t really want to know what was said up there haha. I was so exhausted on our flight home that I didn’t really have the energy to worry about how he was going to act and naturally he slept the entire flight!

On his first flight!

Arriving in Seattle

Slept the entire way back!

Seth and Allison’s wedding reception was a great time, but wouldn’t have expected anything less. If nothing else this family knows how to throw a party! Luke got to wear his lil brown suit for the first time, and looked so handsome! The next day I was looking at the pics we took on the camera and my cousin Nick asked to see them and I realized that we must have took about 50 pictures and 47 of them were of Luke. (Trying to totally redeem myself for taking none of him at his 1st super bowl) yep so we have none of the family that we don’t get to see very often. So once again I’m fired as family photographer. We had a few chardonnays, we danced, we ate some good food, all in all it was a great night! The ride home was even better… unfortunately what happens in a car just outside of Puyallup WA stays in Puyallup WA! Lets just say there was singing, car dancing, open containers, spitting, car doors opening, and an awfully nice police officer.

Lisa, Lacey and I had a really nice girls day on Friday and it was the most sober fun I have had in a long time! We did some baby shopping and talked pregnancy talk with Lacey who was pissed about all the stuff they don’t tell you about pregnancy till you're already pregnant, which I told if we knew everything no one would be getting pregnant! I can’t remember the last time I laughed that much in a long time and can't wait to meet her lil man!

We had dinner at Aunt Vana and Uncle Mark's house on Sunday, which is always a good time. We had some great food, great company and got to watch USA beat Canada which is an even better time! I don't know what it is about that house but its so inviting and homie, Its just a nice place to relax. Lil Laine was such a sweat heart he wanted to blow up his ball pit so Luke could get in and have some fun

Overall it was a great trip, got to see a lot of family, came out with a lot of new inside jokes, checking into rehab, and a new appreciation for traveling with children!

Looking into that happy pill I've heard so much about

So my lil family is taking our first trip, (of many hopefully) out to Tacoma Washington tomorrow and I am having quite a bit of anxiety about taking a baby on a plane. Now to be honest here, before I had Luke I was definitely one of those people who was annoyed by crying babies on planes, restaurants, stores, ok any crying baby in my vicinity annoyed me. Now some would say I’m easily annoyed but those people are usually annoying so I take those comments for what they are worth which is usually nada. But now that those stupid tables have turned as they usually do so often, and I am now a proud owner of my very own “crying” baby. Now usually Luke Chavez is a Saint but lets not lie the kid is a freaking Chavez and we all know what that means, so this is where my anxiety picks up. If you don’t give him what he wants the shit, well you know where it’s going. So all week I have been planning on ways to keep him entertained, which usually involves some type of eating, but childhood obesity is on the rise so he can’t eat for the whole 2 hours, can he!?! I also hear it’s frowned upon to give your kids unneeded “medicine” to take a nap so hopefully the baby trail mix I made with his favorite snacks and a couple new toys will tie him over so he doesn’t realize, oh that we are 35,000 feet in the air traveling at an approximate 500 mph. Because we all know mom is fully aware of this and will need her own form of relaxation on the flight a.k.a. shots! Lets just hope those fortunate travelers rolling solo keep their “concerns” to muttering under their breath like I once did. For their sake lets hope I don’t hear any of them hahaha. Wish us luck! Can’t wait to see the crew in WA soon! Peace and Love Bitches!

G-Ma of the year?

So we are pretty lucky that my parents live 10 minutes away in most cases, except when you get picture messages like this one from the "responsible" adult watching your kid with the title of the pic “I call this one baby in a beer box”. And people wonder why i turned out the way i did...example 13,583

The Ugly V-Day shirt has arrived!

So my mini soul mate decided that for our first Valentines Day he would wear something so ridiculous to prove his love for me and to show I’m still his favorite. So he picked a shirt that stated the obvious. Of course Dad thought it was lame and didn’t want to put him in it but of course I vetoed that and made him take pictures of us anyways. Being the Mom rocks! So I had the best Valentine ever this year and its just amazing how he makes every aspect of my life better. Josh is pretty cool too haha and we also had a nice valentines day and Im very thankful for him. I’m a lucky girl what can I say! Here’s a pic of the best valentine a girl could ask for. Clearly this kid makes anything look good!

I've had a few chardonnays what of it

Is it just me or does it look like Mini Luke just got done with a week long bender! Man, who knew the life of an infant was so rough, he better slow it down. This pic is not doing his bed head any justice. Man I miss his shaggy hair :(

As Biggie would say, So if you don't know, now you know!

So here's a lil history lesson for you. According to sources, that wish to remain anonymous, Bill Chavez wasn't always the badass he is today. There are reports that he use to own and wear a lil brown suit that was quite ridiculous back in the day. And considering he was on what people like to call "the husky side" made this suit even more comical! Well after years of abuse and shit talking, mostly on my part, the lil brown suit has come back to the future with a lil help from the Doc and the DeLorean (aka G Pa and G Ma) First stop on the suits quest WA for Seth and our newest member of the family Allison’s wedding reception! More pics to come!

When Mom is away...The boys will play!

So right now we have the privilege of Josh staying home with monkey during the day. It rocks that Luke gets to hang out with his dad all day which has allowed them to develop this awesome bond that they have. Unfortunately that means mom doesn’t get to participate in all the reindeer games :( I have come home to a couple of surprises the last couple months, some good, some not so good to put it PG rated. And yesterday was no different. I get a call at work from Josh saying that our friend Jackie who cuts hair professionally was just going trim Luke’s hair a lil so it didn't look so EMO haha I definitely agree it was getting pretty long and could use a "trim" so I reluctantly agree to this and insist he take pics since I couldn’t be there. So I get home and I realized that someone had kidnapped my long haired free bird and replaced him with a baby right out of boot camp! It is so short! Of course Josh loves it and thinks it was the best idea ever, and I who am trying oh so hard not to control every aspect of our lives, puts on the worst fake smile ever mind you, and mutter "yeah it looks good." When really in my head I’m thinking "I’m gonna blow up your car" So I took some pics of Luke’s first hair cut. It's not a bad hair cut, Jackie actually did a very good job on a baby who wont sit still for 2 seconds, just a LOT shorter then what i would have wanted.

He doesnt seem to mind but the kid wears monkeys on his butt so what does he know haha

Ruined my chances for Mother of the year already and its only February

So contrary to others popular belief, in my family the Super Bowl is just as much a holiday as Christmas Eve and the Marine Corps birthday is. And the Monday after should also be considered an “optional” work day not like those fake “optional” work days that almost get me fired!

So I was all excited to celebrate Mini Luke’s 1st Super Bowl Sunday, dressed him in some colts blue, drove all the way back home when I realized I forgot the camera, even gave him a bath 2 days in a row and did his hair so he would be ready for some great pics! So would you like to see the awesome pic I took on my mans 1st Super Bowl…

Yep absolutely no pics the entire night of Luke (hence losing my bid for Mother of the Year 2010!) just a pic of the proof that Billy Bonnys dropped 10 G’s on Pauly D to spin at our Super Bowl party

Valentines Day

So Lukey C's 1st Valentines day is coming up and I'm contemplating buying him a ridiculous sweater and taking a picture of him so I can pull it out every year when February comes around and remind him that he's always my valentine no matter how old he gets...sucka. I'm picturing something red with a heart on the front. Think ugly Christmas sweater circa Valentines day. Yeah that's my mission this week to scope out some stores for the sweater that will live on forever, along the side of my dad's lil brown suit! If you don't know ask!

The Baby Whisperer

Or known by his friends as Bill, Billy Bonney, or Billbo. Since Luke was born, 9 short months ago already! Luke has gravitated towards him, first it was my dog Diesel, (that currently lives there now) and now it’s my son. What’s Next! Luke rarely likes to sit still because he's got that baby ADD hahah but for some reason has no problem sitting on G PA's lap for hours. Maybe it’s because he lets him do whatever he wants but that’s just my theory. But what are grandpas for but to spoil right? Have a crabby baby? Call the Baby Whisperer, currently not taking new costumers, but there is a wait list.

Really cuz this never happens for me!

Totally content

ALL G PA's Idea Honest!

Sharing is Caring...At least thats what they tell ya

So obviously we don’t call Luke "BIG BABY" for no reason, the kid likes to eat! Doesn’t matter the color, texture, food group, or type of paper, he likes it all! And so does The Dude, these two are a match made in heaven. And you better shovel it in fast enough or he’s going raise H E Double Hockey Stick!

I live in a mutha*** trash can..You would be a grouch too!

So for Luke's 1st Halloween I wanted him to be something original. My favorite costumes from when I was young were the ones that my Grammy and Mom made. At first I thought just making him a straight mini Luke. Put him in some jeans, a t-shirt he got for free, some classic white shell toe adidas, and draw a spotty neck beard in. But then I remember Uno's (Big Luke) costume from last year! He was Oscar the grouch and it was Hilarious so wouldn’t a smaller version be even funnier, I think so! So I got to work…Wasn’t the best master piece I’ve ever made but it will do for a $15 budget. Check it out...

I would like to do a shout out to my Grammy who bought me a long awaited sewing machine for Christmas this past year. Now my costume making opportunities are endless! Mini Luke and I Thank you!

Paging Dr. Chavez

So considering my Luke is a mini genius I fell like these pics are not too far off hahaha Doogie Howser MD in training

ESCAPE FROM ALCATRAZ

So our lil monkey has learned how to pull himself up to stand in his crib now. So whenever it gets quiet in there he's either passed out or is planning his next escape! 10 lil monkeys jumping on the bed!

Luke's 8 Month Pics

So I've started a blog...Obviously!

So I have decided to start a blog so my awesome family and friends that are not in Colorado can see our lil man's adventures and shenanigans, and maybe a few stories of my own haha. And also the peeps that are here can always be up to speed with what’s going on. I hope you guys enjoy it and I will try to update it frequently considering how fast he’s growing. But no promises people.... Honestly I’m not winning mother of the year over here hahah.
