Luke's 1st Easter!

This comes about a week late but what can you do, Anyhow last weekend marked Luke’s 1st Easter! We went up to my friend Emilee’s house on Saturday to dye eggs with her and her niece and nephew, yes she is a functioning adult with out the hangover haha. Luke didn’t actually dye any eggs considering he is 11 months old and he would probably just want to drink the dye and throw the eggs but he was an awesome spectator. He actually was “decorated” with a lot of the stickers that come in the egg dying kits which he thought was pretty cool.

On Sunday we went over to my G-ma’s house for lunch/dinner and Luke’s first egg hunt! This was the first time I was supposed to bring something like the adults do. I was assigned the veggie try… and do you think I went out and purchased this tray a head of time, absolutely not. So it’s the day of and Josh and I try 3 stores and they are all out of the stupid veggie tray so I had to show up empty handed for my first mission. Just my luck, next time I’ll have to be more prepared haha.

On to the Egg hunt! I strategically placed 3 eggs in the wide open in the back yard so Luke would be able to find them since he was the only one crawling in this hunt. Of course we didn’t get out there first and those 3 eggs were picked up so fast I didn’t even see who grabbed them! Luckily I was part of the “hiding” crew so I just went and found 3 more for Luke. I put Luke down and he was off! He still wants to put anything and everything in his mouth so that first egg he grabbed went right in. Now the dye isn’t the most permanent thing and Luke instantly had a blue month. So I take the egg from him to put in his “basket” (yeah mother of the year over here forgot his basket at home so he was using a plastic king soopers bag, classy I know) and he throws a fit, just mad haha. Crying and waving his hands in the air till you point out the 2 other eggs in the yard. Given that he is a genius he found all 3 eggs haha and was mad every time you took one way but all he wanted to do was crush them and put them in his mouth. Josh then took him around looking for the ones in tress and what not. All in all it was a good time and I am excited for next year when he’s running around with the other kids.

Btws, Luke’s first basket included kixs and these Gerber arrowroot cookies that Luke absolutely LOVES. I’m talking we have to keep them in the cabinet or out of sight because if he sees them he will not stop bugging you ( and by bugging I mean yelling at you) till you give them to him, Fatty! hahaha

And he just looks precious here!
