Easter '11

So it’s been a while since I have blogged, this 8th month of pregnancy is really starting to get old!!! Good thing this is my last Rodeo hahaha. So here’s a lil ditty about our Easter weekend ‘11
So Josh and I were pretty excited for Easter this year considering Luke was going to be old enough to partake in the reindeer games this time around. So growing up Big Luke and I always colored eggs for the Easter egg hunt at my G-ma Chavez's house which was the highlight of our Easter Sunday. Of course there has always been lil minions around to participate in this hunt but Im excited that this year Luke will actually be able to run around and look for eggs unlike last year when all he could do was crawl and we just sat 3 eggs in front of him that he could "find" and once he grabbed them they went right into his mouth! So we colored eggs at Nonnie and Pa's house and as you can imagine it was quite the mess. Luke didn’t only have hulk hands but he did feel the need to try and hulk out on a few eggs and was trying to crush them in his hand. He of course loved it because it involved getting dirty and it seemed like it was something he shouldn’t be doing, and it was nice to enjoy something with him for the first time that I enjoyed so much as a kid.
Now the day before Easter Wendo and I decide to have a trial run of the Hunt so Luke would know what was going on when he got to his Great G-Ma's house the next day, Im raising a winner over here people hahaha no I just wanted to make sure he knew what to do so it was fun for him and he wasn’t just standing around watching all the other kids run around like banshees :) So he was able to find all the eggs at Nonnies house so he was ready for the next day. He had a lot of fun and found a lot of eggs; he even found 2 that were up in the big tree. The second one he kept just pointing and saying "egg, egg, egg" and all the adults were like no there’s nothing up there, till about 10 minutes later Aunt Helen realized that there was an egg up there and that he was right and it was the big MONEY egg! So it was a successful egg hunt for our lil man. And he is $3 richer, Holler!
So when I was growing up my mom would hide our Easter baskets from the Easter Bunny and we would have to follow a trail or follow clues to where the baskets were at and I just remember thinking it was so much fun. So this year I made a trail of candy for Luke to his hidden basket. I wasn’t sure if he would get it but while he was sleeping I made a trail of M&Ms and Reese’s mini eggs from his bed, downstairs behind the couch where his basket was hiding. When he woke up you could tell he saw the trail and wanted out really bad to see where it lead. I have an awesome video of him following the trail and his shirtless wonder dad helping him hold thae candy but the video is too big and wont load damn it so you'll just have to do with pics, sorry :(
